Body made of wood lacquered or painted black, narrowing at 1/3 of the length; grip fitting decorated with a frieze of laurel leaves (with a hole on the flat top indicating a missing finial, e.g. a small metal ball); tip finished with a fitting decorated with an elaborate frieze with a meander motif (with a hole on top indicating a missing finial, as above); in the middle of the body, a wide fitting with an inscription, decorated on the sides with a frieze of laurel leaves. Similar batons can be found in the same collection under inventory numbers JSW 21 (a high degree of similarity), 140, 16, 20, 121, as well as in K. Słowiński’s collection (inventory number KS 5). This commemorative baton was presented in 1929 to Artl, the conductor of the F. Nowowiejski Choir in Oignies, France
