Black baton with fanciful silver fittings; conical body made of dark, French-polished wood; grip and tip fittings, as well as the ring in the middle, adorned with an impressed spiral coil; grip fitting edges of uneven length; ring widens into an oval inscription frame. Hallmarked in London in 1918, silversmith’s mark: E·N (Ebenezer Newman & Co.). This commemorative baton was presented W.A. Done in 1919 and constitutes one of the most beautiful exhibits in the collection.
