Black baton with a silver ring; conical body made of French-polished wood; rounded wooden endings; at 1/3 of the length, a silver ring with an inscription and engraved floral motifs. The baton was presented to the conductor F. Battle for winning the second prize in a competition organized as part of the Eisteddfod festival of Welsh culture in 1906. The venue of the festival is unknown (it was held both in Wales and outside of the country; the inscription suggests the English city of Bolton, but it does not match the known editions of the festival). Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1900.
