Baton of the conductor of the “Dzwon” Singers’ Association, with a reed pitch pipe
Baton with a chromatic reed pitch pipe, encrusted with mother of pearl; body made of dark wood; metal reed pitch pipe on top of the grip, hidden underneath a metal cap; reed pitch pipe has a mouthpiece and reeds on the sides; it is possible to set the major-minor triad to any key by turning the external part of the reed pitch pipe; below the tuner, on the grip, round plates made of mother of pearl; above the grip, the body narrows and has a metal ribbon with an inscription; fitting on the tip of the baton has a flat finish, engraved with linear ornaments. The baton was presented to the conductor of the “Dzwon” Singers’ Association by the singers of a Polish choir. Conductor’s name and town unknown; the choir’s name, “Dzwon,” was popular in Poland at the time – one such association has been active until today in Orzesz. Back in 1929, it was conducted by Jan Tlatlik. However, the name-day on the inscription does not match that of Tlatlik’s, hence the baton must have been presented to another conductor by another ensemble.
