Two-part baton, screwed together, with an internal metal connector; conical cone made of black wood; grip, tip, and screw fittings made of silver and decorated with an impressed twig pattern; on the grip fitting, a frame with an engraved inscription; another frame (inscriptionless) was fitted to the screw. Hallmarked for London 1920 with the maker’s initials J.H inscribed into a rhombus. As per inscription, the baton was presented to W.J. Brereton by the Egremont Wesleyan Methodist Choir and Congregation in March 1921.
