Black baton with silver fittings; body made of black-lacquered wood; grip finished with an original, large, conical fitting with corrugated sides, decorated with an impressed floral pattern; at 1/3 of the body, a silver ring with an engraved inscription, decorated analogically; plain tip fitting, without decorations. Hallmarked in London in 1911, silversmith’s mark E·N (Ebenezer Newman & Co.). As per inscription, the baton was presented to Arthur Cowen, the musical director of the Aberystwyth Corporation, by his friends in September 1912.
