black baton with a silver fitting on the grip; conical body made of wood painted or lacquered black; grip fitting rounded, plain, with initials “RAM” engraved on top (possibly an acronym for London’s Royal Academy of Music); wooden tip; in the middle of the body, a remnant of a ring, likely with an inscription. The baton was hallmarked for London 1936
