Name: Baton with the coat of arms of the Spanish city of A Coruña; Date: turn of the 19th and 20th century?; Country: Spain; Town: La Coruña; Materials: mahogany, gilded metal, fibre; Measurements: length 34,3 cm, diameter 2,2 cm; Ownership: Jan Stanisław Witkiewicz’s collection; Inventory number: JSW 62; Description:

a conic core made of mahogany, with metal fittings on the grip and tip, made of gilded meta; the fitting on the grip was finished with a bulb with the coat of arms of the Spanish city of La Coruña:a lighthouse on a rock in the middle of the badge (Tower of Hercules), and a skull beneath, surrounded with seven shells, as well as a crown above the badge; on the side of the fitting, a city motto was engraved; below the inscription, a ring was mounted on the core, fitted with a string finished with plaited fringes; the tip of the baton has a blunt ending.
