Short, black baton with richly decorated bone tips; cylindrical body made of black, French-polished wood and wrapped along its entire length with a metal band with an inscription; the shorter, bone tip has the form of a flattened knob finished with a little ball and adorned with concentric acanthus and laurel leaves; the longer tip was decorated analogically, with additional pearl blasting, a shield with room for inscription, and a musical motif with a violin, a trumpet, and a score scroll; the little ball on the tip was broken off. As per inscription, the baton belonged to major von Walther, and was presented to him as a Christmas present in 1906.
