Small, short baton made of black wood; the lower half, from the grip to the middle of the body, is covered with an openwork metal fitting with longitudinal holes in the shape of three-leaf rosettes; the upper half of the body is wrapped with a metal band with an inscription; the tip has an analogical decoration to that of the grip, finishing with a little ball. This original baton is probably the oldest in the collection, as well as the oldest baton featured in this portal. As per inscription, it was presented in 1867 to conductor Wilhelm Marx by the Der Poppelsdorfer Quartett Verein ensemble 1867 r.
