black baton with neo-Gothic fittings; conical body made of dark wood; grip and tip fittings with flat finishes and elongated, decoratively carved sides, adorned with various geometrical engravings and pearl blasting; at 2/5 of the length, a metal ring was added with analogical decorations, widening to make room for the engraved inscription. As per inscription, the baton was presented to the conductor O.K. Bernhardt by the Spa Concert Room Orchestra of Harrogate, in 1879.
