Short, narrow, black baton with white plastic tips; wooden body lacquered black, with a narrowing at 1/3 of the length from the grip; at about 1/2 of the length, the body spirals for a bit, followed by a metal plate in the shape of a shield with an engraved inscription; plain, white, plastic tips imitating ivory, adorned with narrow rings on the sides. Inscription “Pirates of Penzance” date 1881, possibly commemorating the staging of the eponymous operetta by an unknown ensemble (the piece was composed in 1879 by W.S. Gilbert and A. Sullivan)
