Baton with elaborately carved bone tips; cylindrical body made of black, French-polished wood; concentric rosette motives carved on the shorter tip, along with pearl blasting and leaves; analogical motives on the other, longer, lyre-shaped tip (11 cm-long), along with a shield with room for inscription, as well as carved violins, wind instruments and a score scroll on a laurel wreath background; on the body, close to the shorter bone tip, visible holes, possibly after a former inscription plate. According to J.S. Witkiewicz, the baton was owned by Johann Strauss (most likely the Son); it may also be inferred that the baton was made in Vienna. The exhibit is similar to baton JSW 117 from the same collection.
